The main objective of the ELPIDA project was to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities by empowering family members and especially their parents with the necessary knowledge and skills to better support the needs of their children regardless of age.<\/p>

Six organisations from five European countries have come together to create an e-learning platform for parents of people with intellectual disabilities.<\/p>

The online platform, available in six languages, includes six interactive training modules aimed at providing training, awareness raising and\/or behaviour change in the areas of Human Rights, Communication, Ageing, Stress Management, Transition to Adulthood and Sexual Health.<\/p>

The results of the project were presented at the ELPIDA Multiplier Event held in March 2019 in Brussels.<\/p>
